The sands of the deserts really must be seen to be believed. The deep rich reds, that greet you when you step from your car. The feeling of the sand between your toes and the connection back to the land. Incredible. We often found ourselves walking barefoot, connecting to Country and connecting to what was and is such a sacred place. I had been told by those who had visited, that the red centre was a spiritual experience, and I did believe it. However, until you are there you truly don't recognise the majestic, spiritual nature and all that it holds sacred. There is something about that red sand that will stay in my heart forever. The feeling of being grounded, the communities around and the importance of culture to the people there.
