Hand embellished screen printed artwork by Fleur Woods
This series, Bloom Revolution, is a conversation between our digital age, the imagery is intentionally pixelated, and mother nature in the real
The contrast of digitally printed linen with the slow stitched elements makes the work nostalgic and contemporary at the same time
These works were created by first using actual plants foraged from Fleur's garden to make flat lays which were photographed. The images were then digitally altered and printed onto linen.
Once back in the studio, Fleur brings paint and stitch to the linen base image to create a visual conversation and lots of textural details. The titles of these artworks were chosen to give them a familiarity to deepen the connection with the work & ultimately nature herself.
"As always my joy in observing the magical details and nuances in nature are highlighted with thousands of stitches. Each work is true my ode to mother nature & I get so much out of making them." Fleur Woods, artist.
